I was first skeptical about this product for its price, but its the best investment i have made. Everything i grilled slid off the mat, easy to clean, and a plus i dont have to clean my grill. From the picture, any grease or juices from what you are gilling wont go through the mat. It also keeps it there to help your meat moist and almost fry on itself. I love it. Would advise u to get more incase it gets burnt or whatever.
I've been using these mats for most of my grilling for several years. Love them. Not only are they easy to clean, but it saves me the laborious task of cleaning gunk off the grill. I recently tried grilling homemade pizza on top of these mats, and WOW--game changer! I previously used a pizza stone on the grill but often ended up with burnt crust bottoms by the time the top was cooked. Now I assemble my pizza directly on the grill mat, preheat the grill, and transfer the mat (with pizza on it) to the grill. Close the lid so the cheese & toppings cook, too. The first time, you'll need to keep an eye on the bottom of the crust to figure out timing. By the time I have a small amount of desired charring on the bottom, the toppings are cooked/melted. The pizza slides right off the mat. SO AWESOME! The crust is crisp on the bottom, just the way I like it. CLEANING TIP--Mat's clean easily in the sink or dishwasher. Dry them on a drying rack made for bottles and plastic bags (picture provided).
They do wear out and I dont wait for them to tear or get holes before replacing. They last a good long time as long as I gently scrape the residue off and wash them with warm water and a grease cutting dish detergent (Dawn). I use a no scratch sponge and they clean up pretty well. Careful of extreme grill heat such as grease fire from fatty meats. Extreme temperature will reduce the life of the mat. You do get grill marks and food tastes great. Would recommend this to family and friends.
My wife likes grilled salmon but the fish was always sticking to the grill or breaking apart. I thought I'd try these. They work perfectly. The fish grills perfectly and doesn't stick. I've also grilled burgers using them and they come out the same as grilling without them but I don't get all the flareups I used to get. I've also put them in the dishwasher to clean them which is great so they can be used over and over.
I use mats on our gas grill with everything from meats and fish to fruits and vegetables. Nothing is sacrificed to the grill gods! Flare ups are a thing of the past and I am sure I am lengthening the life of my grill. There were pricier versions of these and I say why? No reason to pay more. I do not store the mats in the box they came in, preferring to store flat for quick availability on grill night which would be every night except for rain! Clean up is extremely easy, a little mild dish soap, even for charred bits, and ready to go! Dont hesitate.
